Abstract

"In response to a call issued by directors of the Red Cross society a large number of ladies met on Saturday, June 4 at the Congregational church. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. H. M. Barthlett who stated the object to be the making of bandages for the Yakima volunteers who are now at San Francisco awaiting an order to sail for the Philippine islands. By diligent work the ladies completed 170 abdominal bandages and ordered them forwarded to Captain Scudder for the use of his company or at his disposal."
