Abstract

"When a girl Mrs. Kincaid crossed the plains from Missouri to Oregon by ox team. In 1878 the family came to the Yakima valley, the third family to settle in the Naches. Threatened trouble from Indians caused Mrs. Kincaid and her family and other settlers in the Naches valley, 2 miles below where Naches city now is, to flee from their homes to a place across the river at one time before the Perkins massacre in the early days. They returned to their homesteads, however, as soon as the danger was over."
