Abstract
"Mr. Comegys reports that so far in his search of museum material he has found only two pictures of Chief Bones. One is like the one you sent to us with your letter of October 8. The other is the picture of Chief Bones and his wife, painted by Major Moorehouse, mentioned in your letter of September 4. We also have a separate of Chief Bones taken from the picture with his wife. He further reports that there is one picture marked Chief Bones but it is not the same man.shown in your picture."
