Abstract
"So far as I know we're not planning any centennial observance. I say 'we' meaning the community. The city wasn't founded until 1859. Consulting Lyman's 'Old W.W.Co.' I note on page 93: 'In 1854 and 1855 a general flame of war burst forth in widely separated regions..In May, 1855, Gov. Stevens with a force of about 50 men reached WW for a conference with the tribes.'"
