"I have always been interested in Indians and horses. I was one of the earlier Directors of the Appaloosa Horse Club, which has succeeded in re-establishing the fine strain of spotted Nez Perce war-horses as a separate and distinct breed. I feel that it is safe to say that I am a serious student of the early history of the Inland Empire country, its people and its development."
