Abstract

Putting up street flags on Yakima Avenue for the Yakima/Tieton irrigation pay-off party which would be held February 14, 1947. The final payoff was 19,630 on a government loan for $3,597,479. Secretary of the Interior Julias A. King was made an honorary member of the Yakama Indian tribe at a ceremony held in the Wapato longhouse in the morning of 2/14. That day a parade was held from 6th & Yakima to the Commercial Hotel, a tour of the Tieton Area, a banquet at the Commerical Hotel and a program at the Capitol Theatre.
