Abstract

Labeled Personal. Begins, "You cannot imagine how sincerely glad I am to see by your own hand that you are not removed; but I did read it in the Oregonian and in three other papers -- and it has given me cause for deep regrett. Mr Butter at Warm Spring was removed and he was a personal friend and a good man. Then I saw Judge White with whom I have been working had resigned and I felt alone. Oh I do so hope you will not be changed."
