Abstract
"The Local Round-Up. Fred Yosting returned Saturday from a three-year army service in the Philippines. Mr. Yosting saw some hard service in Cuba before going to the Philippines. He will remain here for a time with his relatives and rest up after his strenuous career in the army. The hard rain of Sunday and Sunday night added to the melting snow of the foothills soon made most of the creeks of this county bank full and overflowing. Some considerable damage is said to have been caused, especially in the lower Cowichee where the flood inundated the road and washed out some bridges. Workmen are engaged this week in tearing out the old windows and enlarging the window space of the Hotel Yakima office preparatory to putting in large plate glass windows. The changes being made will certainly add much to the looks of that well-known hostelry, and give it a very metropolitan appearance."
