Abstract

"A New Town In the Sunnyside. J. H. Thomas & Co. are selling stock in a new company to be known as the 'Yom Kippur Townsite Co.' The principal object of the new corporation, as stated to the Democrat, will be to establish a new town to be known as Yom Kippur. The new townsite will be located on the left bank of the Yakima river, near the upper end of Snipes mountain. The new county bridge that has been built at that point will of course, put the new town in connection with the railroad station of Alfalfa, which is only 1 1/2 miles away. In fact it is the intention of the organizers to build a spur from the new town to Alfalfa. The railway company, it is understood, are willing to help in this matter to the extent of furnishing the necessary ties and rails."
