Abstract
"What an object lesion Thursday's excursion proved to the 'old-timers' of Yakima. Over six hundred people left the town that morning, and the streets immediately after presented a livelier appearance that at any time previously during the week. As one old resident remarked: 'Thirteen years ago, if as many people had left town at one time as did today, there would have been nothing left but empty houses, jack-rabbit and coyotes; but as it is today, we don't hardly miss them from the streets. Yakima must be growing."
