Abstract
"Local and Personal. Public sentiment seems to be crystalizing in favor of the paving of Yakima avenue and the hope is generally expressed that the new council will take speedy action in the matter. The street is now in a most deplorable condition and some of the business men are complaining bitterly. Six homsestead locations were made at the land office on Thursday, two by Spokane men in the Horse Heaven country, the others by James J. Hayes, Samuel Hayes, Peter Schuller and Norman Carr, of Ellensburg, on land in Kittitas that is expected to come under the proposed new ditch."
