Abstract

"A land of wonders. The Klondyke Once the home of Huge Animals. Mr. David Longmire, the well known rancher of the Wenas, received recently from his brother Caine Longmire, a letter, which was dated at Dawson City on Nov. 19, contains not only much interesting information concerning the conditions that exist in that remarkable country, but speaks of some wonderful finds that have been unearthed there from the bed rocks of the placer mines, which proves beyond the possibility of a doubt that the country bordering on the Arctic circle at one time in the world's history enjoyed a tropical climate and that over its green hills and vales there roamed a class of animals so gigantic in size the earth must have trembled under their feet."
