Abstract
"Looks like murder. A fatal shooting affray in the 'Tenderloin' district. The people of this city were considerably excited on Friday morning when the news had passed around that a 'murder' had been committed the night before. The crime if such it be, evidently grew out of the strained relations existing between two colored men, who go by the names of Lewis Martin and Tom Johnson over the affections of a colored woman in the 'tenderloin' district known as Lucy Williams."
