Abstract
"Atomic shelters are as absurd today as a protection against nuclear attack as medieval castles were against cannon, says Hugo Gernsback in Forecast 1962, this year's edition of his annual Christmas greeting -- its 28th consecutive year. He maintains -- as he did editorially in 1924, 21 years before the atomic age -- that the more horrible and more devastating war becomes, the less the chances are that there will be war. He gives facts why there will be no warning to go to shelters."
