"The enclosed letter and slip are to show you what this is all about, in the hope that you will send me the name and address of someone I might contact for a list (or lists) of writers in the Eastern Washington area. We have quite a few from Spokane, but none from the Yakima area, and I'm sure there must be many writers over there."
