"Whenever the name 'Tampico' is mentioned in the presence of pioneers - at once their minds recall that grand old pioneer familiarly known as 'Uncle Abe Eglin.' A. D. Eglin was born in Woodstock Canada of American parentage in 1834 - When only a mere youth he crossed the plains by ox team in 1854."
