Abstract

Letter to Jimmie James starting with political talk. Relander tried to get the Indians to vote, and says what help that would have been, with this election. "They would have meant the difference between his election and his defeat." Relander believes this close vote will be an example to the people that they must register, or they will remain unrepresented in the future. Relander would provide the publicity, and others will work with the Yakimas, as well. He wants to know the recipient's thoughts on how voting went in Oregon. He ends with brief talk of party politics; how Democrats have treated the Indians, and hopes that Republicans won' fall into the same policy.
